Sciannamè oil is the protagonist of a family and territory story, it began four generations ago.
The firm was founded in the early 1900s, when our great-grandfather, Nicola Sciannamè, on his return to his homeland, decided to invest the profits of some years working in the USA, in an olive grove.
The passion for his land had supported him during these years and it would be its strength for his whole life.
In the 60s, one of his sons, Liberantonio, who had followed him in this activity, decided it was time to make his oil known to consumers.
Since then a lot of people, expert or just curious, have known our firm and have had the opportunity to appreciate our extra virgin oil.
Then, moving on to his nephew, Nicola, the business has grown, has gone beyond national borders, also satisfying the demands of foreign customers: for us, it is a pride to say that many of these have been regular customers for many years and their confidence is the spur which drives us to offer a better and better product.
In order to offer our customers a product as genuine and natural as possible, in 2000 we started growing part of our soils with organic farming methods, which exclude the use of pesticides and which is certified by “Ass. Suolo e Salute s.r.l.” control body.
Now it is the turn of Nicola’s great-grandson Liberantonio who, experiencing a greater appreciation for organic olive oil, has expanded organic farming to about 70% of the soil.
